In the third episode, we discover even more of Ryuji’s Felix Unger side. We also discover that he has apparently taken over doing Taiga’s laundry for her. His lecture concerning separating colors and remembering to empty your pockets is greeted with aggravation from our miniature Oscar Madison. As they pass by a softball field they see Minori. Ryuji has a moment of sheer happiness at seeing Minori playing softball, which is broken by Taiga deciding that his expression is “perverted.” She drives him away from the field with lots of kicking and punching (and yelling.) Ryuji goes along, complaining bitterly.

Meanwhile Kitamura and Minori are watching their exchange. Both seem to find the squabbling amusing. Kitamura makes a joke about Taiga and Ryuji getting plenty of exercise in the morning.

In class, Ryuji sees Minori decorating a cell phone—she apparently makes money as a “phone stylist” decorating phones with rhinestones and beads. She offers to decorate a phone for Ryuji, which makes him blush and flail. The blushing and flailing continues when he gets back home. He’s so busy mooning about how wonderful and creative his crush is, that he can’t hear Taiga asking about dinner. (This really makes her mad.)
